The Mechanic – The Overall Value of Quality Training in 2024

As I have been to India and traveled various times to the Middle East, the aspect of training comes to my mind often as I am a Lifelong learner. To relate this passion for quality training I related it to the statement I vividly remember my grandmother always saying, “You get what you pay for.”

This statement holds more than ever with the rise of e-learning and other different platforms. At the time my grandmother made that statement I was just in my teens and did not consider the impact of the statement until yesterday on a client call; it then came to my mind after I finished the call. So, I thought of the advantages and disadvantages of senior instruction which is often more expensive. But now as I look at the cost, I have invested was well worth the investment. Most wouldn’t let a fresher mechanic work on their automobile but often when it comes to training our minds to acquire a new skill set, we do not carry that same sentiment.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of investing in a quality training program with a senior trainer as opposed to a cheaper trainer by a less experienced trainer who offers the same certification?

Investing in a quality training program with a senior trainer compared to a cheaper training program with a less experienced trainer can have various advantages and disadvantages. Here’s a breakdown of the key considerations:

Advantages of Quality Training Program with a Senior Trainer:

Expertise and Experience:

Advantage: Senior trainers typically have extensive industry experience and expertise. They bring real-world knowledge and practical insights to the training, enhancing its value.

Networking Opportunities:

Advantage: Senior trainers often have established networks in their industry. Attending their training sessions may provide valuable networking opportunities that could benefit your career or business.

Customized Content:

Advantage: Experienced trainers are better equipped to tailor the training content to the specific needs of the participants. They can address advanced topics and answer nuanced questions.

Credibility and Reputation:

Advantage: Senior trainers often have established credibility and a good reputation within the industry. Completing a training program with a renowned senior trainer can enhance your own professional credibility.

Practical Insights:

Advantage: Senior trainers can share practical insights, case studies, and anecdotes from their own experiences, making the learning process more engaging and applicable.

Disadvantages of Quality Training Program with a Senior Trainer:

Cost

Disadvantage: Quality training programs with senior trainers can be more expensive than those with less experienced trainers. This may be a barrier for individuals or organizations with budget constraints.

Limited Availability:

Disadvantage: High-demand senior trainers may have limited availability, making it challenging to schedule training sessions at convenient times.

Advantages of Cheaper Training Program with Less Experienced Trainer:

Cost-Effectiveness:

Advantage: Cheaper training programs can be more budget-friendly, making them accessible to a broader audience, including individuals or small businesses with limited resources.

Willingness to Learn:

Advantage: Less experienced trainers may be more eager to prove themselves, leading to a high level of dedication and effort in delivering the training.

Disadvantages of Cheaper Training Program with Less Experienced Trainer:

Limited Expertise:

Disadvantage Less experienced trainers may not have the depth of knowledge or practical experience that senior trainers possess. This can result in a less comprehensive learning experience.

Quality of Content:

Disadvantage: Cheaper training programs may have generic or outdated content. The training materials may lack the depth and relevance provided by a more experienced trainer.

Networking Opportunities:

Disadvantage: A less experienced trainer may not have the same level of industry connections, potentially limiting networking opportunities for participants.

In conclusion, the decision to invest in a quality training program with a senior trainer or a cheaper alternative with a less experienced trainer depends on various factors, including budget constraints, specific learning objectives, and the importance of gaining insights from someone with a proven track record in the industry. It’s essential to weigh the advantages and disadvantages based on your individual or organizational needs.

At Conscious Solutions certifications we are led by a “REAL” Master Trainer Dr. Doris Greenwood and have the validity of credible international certification and her 37 years of being a successful Entrepreneur and in that 37 years have developed an eco-system to support our learners through our community far beyond the training. As the phenomenon of the “certificate factory? Is ever-expanding, and I can’t even mention the Trainers who come to us for our advanced programs saying they have learned from a Senior trainer sadly to find out during the consultation that they lack the basic knowledge and are unable to replicate the required techniques to gain entry into the next level of training because they went with the value and now only know cheaper is sometimes not better. “As they got what they paid for,” and the engine of which equates to their mind will not allow long-distance travel to achievement. And, we have to repair the work done by the cheaper mechanic. Let alone console them for their investment as they experience buyer’s remorse.
